The Ohio Forage & Grasslands Council Annual Meeting will be February 8, 2019 at the Ohio Department of Agriculture in Reynoldsburg, OH (8995 E. Main St), with registration beginning at 8:30 am.
The featured speaker will be Jerry Lindquist, recently retired Grazing and Field Crop Educator of Michigan State University Extension. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in forage systems to share with attendees. He will speak on "Eight Years of Grassfed Beef Research at MSU - Lessons Learned" and also "Multi-Species Cover Crop Mixes for Grazing and Soil Benefit."
To compliment the cover crop topic, also speaking will be Kyle Smith of KC Fencind Unlimited, LLC who speak on "Fencing Geared Towards Grazing Cover Crops."
Three producers will share about their operations of beef (Dustin Bender of Lexington, OH), stored forages (Joe Celuch of Frazeyburg, OH), and dairy (Ernest Martin of Shiloh, OH). The program will be closed out with a "Hot Topics in Forages" where you can bring questions and insights to share with everyone present.
