    Beef and forage enthusiasts alike are invited to attend the upcoming 2017 Beef and Forage Field Night scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 24, from 5-8:30 P.M. This event will be held at the Jackson Agricultural Research Station of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC), 019 Standpipe Rd. Jackson, OH 45640.

  3. Jul 15, 2017, 8:00am - 4:00pm

    The 2017 Ohio Sheep Day will be held July 15 at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster. Come learn together with other producers and experts on pasture walks. There will be sessions for beginning and novice shepherds, research updates, as well as managing internal parasites and predators.

  4. May 3, 2017, 6:00pm - 7:30pm

    Underwood Stock Farms (Sullinger Farm) will serve as the location for the Hardin County Pasture Walk on Wednesday, May 3.  This program will be from 6:00-7:30 pm in a pasture located at 18917 County Road 155 near Ridgeway, Ohio.

  5. Apr 27, 2017 (All day)

    The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council will host a pasture walk on April 27 at 6 p.m. at Geno Morelli’s Farm (formerly the Straus Farm) located at 84 Main Street, Rayland, OH 43943. Please note that although the address is Rayland, this farm is located just east of Smithfield on State Route 151. Join us at our first pasture walk of the year at this Jefferson County beef farm. Geno runs about 40 head on this farm as a part of his overall operation, which includes several other farms.

  6. Apr 17, 2017 through Apr 19, 2017, 12:30pm - 3:00pm

    The Tri-State Dairy Nutrition Conference is a 26-year collaborative effort between The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Purdue University, and the allied dairy industry. The purpose of the Conference is to disseminate current information on the feeding of dairy cattle to feed industry personnel, nutrition consultants, Extension personnel, university students, veterinarians, and interested dairy producers. About 550 people attend the Conference each year.

  7. Mar 29, 2017, 9:00am - 12:00pm

    Speakers will discuss measures of forage quality, the new reduced lignin alfalfa, timely harvest for quality forage, and using cover crops as a forage source. The presenters are Dr. Mark Sulc, OSU Extension Forage Specialist and Jason Hartschuh, OSU Extension Crawford Co. Educator. Light lunch provided.
