Forages for Horses is an online course that includes live webinars, an updated forage/ pasture management manual, and other resources. Webinars will take place once a month during Oct, Nov, and Dec 2025, and all webinars will allow for attendees to ask speakers questions (they'll also be recorded to share via the Forages for Horses online course for folks who aren't available to attend during the webinar). The Equine Extension Team will also be hosting a winter webinar series once a month during Jan, Feb, and March 2026. Registration for Equine Winter Webinars is free and available here.

    OSU Extension of Washington County will be hosting a Pastures for Profit 3-part course for anyone interested in pasture management and forage production. Those new to livestock and hay production are encouraged to attend this course. Topics include: Management Intensive Grazing, Goal Setting, Improving Soil Fertility and Forage Growth, Meeting Animal Needs, Paddock Design, Grazing Economics, and Extending the Grazing Season. The course will take place April 9 and 16, 2026, 6-9pm at the Washington County Extension office and April 25, 2026, 10am-2pm at a farm in Lower Salem, OH.
